Nearly 1 in 3 Husker students worries about not having enough food until they get money to buy more. Luckily, there are resources on campus that can help!
The Husker Pantry
The Husker Pantry provides free food and personal items to UNL students. You won’t get asked about your financial situation or integrated in any way. For spring 2023, the Husker Pantry has moved to online ordering. You can fill out a form that asks basic questions about what you need and then pick up your order at one of two Husker Pantry locations. You can find the Husker Pantry in the University Health Center and the East Campus Visitor Center.
Meal Kit Mondays
The second resource at UNL is Meal Kit Mondays. Every other Monday you have the opportunity to order a meal kit from the Recreation and Wellness Center on East Campus. The meal kit costs $25 and serves four people! You can split this meal between three other friends and it will only cost $6.25 per person! Each kit comes with a recipe card and pre-portioned ingredients. This is the perfect solution if you aren’t feeling confident in your cooking skills! The deadline to order the kits online is five days before the Monday your meal is ready. You can pick up your meal kit from 4:30-5:30 p.m. at the Recreation and Wellness Center on East Campus.
